Seriously Sad

Today is a very,

very serious day. 

 Many tears have been shed

 in the lead up

 to the creation

of today’s most important day. 

Partners have been lost –

 permanently separated,

 torn apart

before their time…

destined

to spend the rest of their lives

 apart. 

Lost.

Today is Lost Sock Memorial Day

Please,

bow your head

for a few moments

as a show of respect.

  Each and every one of us

has fallen victim to the

lost sock

on one occasion or another.

  May all of the lost socks

of the world,

wherever they may lie,

rest peacefully today.
