Don Ritchie - Rest Peacefully

Oh, sad news. 

A favourite person

of the Cow has died. 

 Don Ritchie, legend, died today. 

He was the saver

of so many sad people. 

 While they contemplated jumping

 from a Sydney cliff,

Don would notice them

 on the edge

and walk across the road

for a chat with them. 

 He brought many people down,

off the cliff and into his home,

where he offered them

 a beer or a coffee. 

Don was 86 years old. 

He has been quoted saying

“Always remember the power

of a simple smile,

a helping hand,

a listening ear

and a kind word.”

His funeral will no doubt

be huge, as people stop

and remember him. 

His family have asked

for donations to be made

 to the Black Dog Institute

or lifeline.

Don Ritchie was a wonderful man.
