The Day After Valentine's...

Valentine’s Day can be a time
of great stress and pressure...
At school, there was always
a girl who got a few
Valentine’s Day cards
from secret admirers...
But, imagine if,
in a whole classroom of girls...
everyone got a Valentine’s Day card
– except you.
Oh the shame.
So, luckily for the single people
 of the world...
there is a day
just for singles!
It’s Singles Awareness Day!
This celebration day
was started in Italy.
I wasn’t aware –
but St Faustin is the
guardian of single people.
Single Awareness Day has an unfortunate acronym S.A.D., but this day is for singles to celebrate and embrace their single status.  The suggested ways to celebrate this day are: travel, volunteering, partying, treating yourself to a present you really want...
The colour for this day is green...
the opposite
to Valentine’s Day’s red.

(I really was surprised how many
references to Singles Awareness Day
I could find!)
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you. /But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head.
My love you take my breath away /What have you stepped in to smell this way?
What inspired this amorous rhyme? /Two parts vodka, one part lime....
Pictures taken from here, here and here.
Happy Singles Day!
