When
life sails smoothly,
we don’t think
anything of the Red Cross…
But, when things
suddenly fall apart
and help is needed,
the Red Cross is often
the first group
on the scene.
Today is
World Red Cross
Day.
Last month,
when Fiji flooded,
the Red Cross
shipped supplies
to the people who needed them…
the Red Cross
has helped people
in 64 countries
have access to clean water…
Remember the Japanese tsunami?
The Red Cross are still there,
helping with
rebuilding
– communities and lives.
It’s easy to take it
for granted
that
organisations will be there
to pick up the pieces
when we need them…
but, if we
really want
these organisations to be there
for us,
we sometimes need to help
them.
Being Red Cross Day
would be an
excellent time
to head to their website,
check out what
they
are currently working
on
and perhaps…
donate
a little cash…
You never know
when you
might need them.
And…
for something a little fun,
it was also
No
Socks Day today.
Unfortunately…
I
realised this too late
and wore socks!
Oh man!
