Pound for a Cake

Pound Cake Day 

I don’t even know

what a pound cake is! 

To me, it sounds

like it is full of fruit –

and that sounds disgusting...

But, this blog is an excuse

for me to learn “stuff”,

so... back to google

to find out what

a Pound cake actually is...

Butter, caster sugar, vanilla, eggs, plain flour, baking powder and icing sugar for the top...

Ha, no fruit! 

Sounds like I would

like pound cake. 

Apparently, the original Pound Cake

was made using

a pound of butter...

a pound of sugar...

a pound of flour...

and a pound of eggs... 

Apparently, the original cake

beaten by hand...

for an hour!
